Not every twin flame pairing will be free and single when they meet. One of both may already be in a relationship or marriage. Even if they are single they may not energetically be free of a former partner and may have things to get closure on, for example grief, guilt.
You need to obtain a certain level of soul growth and healing to be in union with your twin as it is too intense otherwise and therefore you cannot learn all of your lessons from your twin. This is where the karmic soulmate comes in to help you learn and heal enough from those lessons that are too intense for you to deal with though the twin flame dynamic. Your twin cannot hurt you without hurting themselves so the more evolved twins are more likely to separate than willingly put their counterpart through hurt through their behaviour. The intensity gets too much and they pull away to avoid causing too much damage and pain.
With a karmic soulmate there is the challenge and there can be an intensity but not too the degree that it causes a long term separation. At least not until the lesson has been learnt or you have got all you can from that relationship. You can have your arguments, temporary splits etc but you don’t pull away to no contact to the same degree. This means you can work through those things you wanted to learn in this lifetime, you are able to make those mistakes and you can commence the healing on a certain aspect with them. You will find that you keep entering the same patterns either with the same person or other people until this learning has clicked and you understand the pattern and can heal or change the pattern of behaviour. These karmic soulmates were meant to cross your path and are part of the story of assisting your union. They agreed to do this prior to being born and you are both learning from each other. There will be something you agreed to help them learn also. These karmic soulmates are lined up for certain parts of your life (and your twin’s life) and you will be with the karmic until one of you has learnt what you needed to learn. If you haven’t learnt your lesson but that karmic has then the next karmic will be there to pick up the baton. If you have learnt the lesson in between the previous karmic leaving your life and the new approach from another karmic you will recognise the signs and be able to say no to this relationship, as you know you don’t need another lesson on the same subject.
Once those lessons have been sufficiently healed enough for you and your twin, you can then move forward. Those karmic soulmates will be set aside and although you may not see an immediate relationship emerge, the twin counterpart will be preparing for the physical union once they have released the energetic attachments and healed sufficiently. They may need to do this alone. This is not to say there will be no lessons or healing to do with your twin and that they won't be any push and pull between you; but you both eventually will have done enough to bring down the level of intensity to sustain a relationship and help each other to learn and grow together.
